Visiting Deep Creek Lake

You can make planning a trip to visit Maryland’s Deep Creek Lake easier by hiring a charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coaches or school bus from Bus Company Maryland. Deep Creek Lake’s location in the forested mountains of Maryland’s northwest requires ground transport, and a rented bus is one of the best ways to get there.
Located in Garrett County, Deep Creek Lake is a large man-made lake covering nearly 3,900 acres, with 69 miles of shoreline. Created as a result of a dam constructed in 1925, Deep Creek’s popularity with fishermen and boaters spread in the 50s and 60s. With the opening of new highways in the 1980s, access to Deep Creek Lake was made easier to visitors from Washington D.C. and Baltimore. Today, Deep Creek is not just a popular destination for water activities and fishing, but also attracts a thriving winter tourist crowd.
Deep Creek is located high in the mountains of Maryland. There is little in the way of public transport, so using a bus hired from Bus Company Maryland is a good way of getting around, especially if you are in a group. Stop at the Deep Creek Lake Discovery Center in Swanton. The center is a good place to pick up some Deep Creek Lake souvenirs, and some child friendly interactive exhibits. Staff offer free guided hikes into the park.
Wisp Golf and Oakland Country Club offer championship golf courses with breathtaking views of the mountains surrounding Deep Creek Lake, as well as of the lake itself. Golfers of all skill levels will enjoy playing either of these courses. Golf pros are on hand to offer lessons to beginners and advanced players alike.
Take your rental bus to All Earth Eco Tours in Friendsville. This company offers tours and outdoor activities during all 4 seasons. Take the snowshoe tour during winter, or kayak down the river during summer. Guided hikes around the surrounding forests are also available.
For a change of pace, ask your Bus Company Maryland bus driver to take your group down to Pleasant Valley. Drop in at Pleasant Valley Dreamrides, and go horse riding in the Deep Creek Lake countryside. They offer trail riding and riding lessons. There is a large variety of horses and ponies to choose from, to suit every rider.
If you are feeling adventurous, visit Adventure Sport Center International. Here you can go whitewater rafting with their experience guides. Truly a unique opportunity to experience whitewater rafting on a mountaintop.

A View Of Maryland

Sometimes it is not about the destination, it is about the journey...I bet this quote's been said and written many times over and continues to ring true for most of us. Bus Company Maryland has been in the bus transportation business for many decades now and we strongly believe that the quote is one that we hold close to our hearts. The journey needs to be memorable and beautiful too.
A scenic drive is something that you can easily do when you are here in Maryland because there are many gorgeous, highly recommended routes that you can enjoy.
One good example would be the Baltimore's Historic Charles Street where some of the most captivating museums are at. While the focus would be on history and culture, there are plenty of pubs, dining hotspots and small, quaint little shops to buy souvenirs from. Maryland are big on sports and these sporting athletes love Charles Street, for some reason so when you are here, have a look around because you might be lucky enough to spot one of them.
Want to take things a step higher (no pun intended)? Then you should be game for some mountain trails and river rafting. I know this is a little surprising because Maryland is often about the endless sandy beaches and sailing activities...the focus has never been on the trails and its mountains but trust me, if you DO decide to take a drive up the mountain, the scene will truly make your jaw drop.
And since we are onto the less conventional topic of rivers and mountains, Chesapeake is an absolute MUST and after that, you can bring the rented charter bus to Ohio Canal. There are rides to be taken, bird to be watched, and of course, view to be languidly enjoyed.
In the meantime, if you are looking around for a good bus company in Maryland, we would love to hear from you and our customer service representatives can provide you with a prompt bus rental quote. We look forward to serving you in the very near future.
